What is the difference between a teasing comb and a regular comb
What this brush really does is volumize. It helps you to create more space, more definition and adds control and shape. A teasing brush is considerably thinner than a regular hairbrush, with softer bristles of varying lengths. The teasing brushes you find at Brushopolis are made of natural boar bristles , which won't damage your hair in any way.
Use your main hairbrush for tidying, and your teasing brush for styling or finishing, and you will get the look you're after.
Given that teasing brushes, like the Brushopolis Teasedale Classic Brush, are made of natural products that are safe to use on all hair types, daily use is not only possible but recommended. One of Cosmopolitan's journalists did a study on hair growth and health, which found that brushing with boar bristles reduced damage to the hair by distributing natural oils along the whole strand of hair, adding strength and shine. These brushes provide a soft but effective massage to your hair and scalp so that you won't damage even the most fragile of hair.
So, what does a teasing brush do? The answer is almost anything! Do you want your hair looking smooth and groomed, or tumbled and windswept? Or, all of the above? Fortunately, a teasing brush can achieve all of these looks, so if you fancy a change, you don't need to switch accessories. There are always those random hairs that refuse to lie flat and do as they're told. If you have too many of these stubborn, "I'm going to do what I please" hair strands, then your neat, tailored look is ruined.
The Drybar teasing comb is one of my favorites because it combines the right combination of boar and nylon bristles that provides the right amount of tension to your hair as you tease. Tension is very important. You want just the right amount.
Too much and you could damage your hair. Too little and the brush is then not effective. All teasing brushes have a very slim tapered handle for sectioning hair. Having a styling tool that can section hair while teasing is a must. With the Drybar brush just flip it around in your hand and section the next area to be teased.
Once you get good you can do flip the brush around with one hand easily. The key to doing this is having the right handle. A handle that is slim enough to section but good enough to get a good grip and the Drybar does. If you have long hair then this feature is a must because you have to section your hair for teasing.
Hair is separated using the pick end of the brush then held upright using the free hand. Hair is then brushed down in the opposite direction while being help upright. While the hair is being held upright short brush strokes are used working from the tips to the scalp. This is the process that creates the volume. Yes, try to avoid teasing your hair every day.
Teasing is not good for your hair because all the cells on the hair strands are pointing downward toward the tips. Curly or wavy hair may naturally have more lift and body to it, but hair that is not flattened is more likely to tangle and be damaged during the styling process.
This straightening is often more easily accomplished using a natural bristle brush to ensure even brushing and thorough untangling. After the hair is straightened and untangled the actual teasing can be done. The pick at the bottom of the teasing comb can be used to help separate the hair for working with, or a person can use his or her hands to do so.
